Grace, Hope & Peace, Friend;

Why was Jesus’ death the only possible resolution to humanity’s estrangement from God?

Jesus, who is and always has been God, (John 1:1) was there when, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) And Paul wrote, “All things have been created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:16)

Jesus IS life (John 14:6) and when He created humanity, He “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7). But we rejected Him, and the life He breathed into us. Earning instead ‘death’ – separation from our Creator. (Romans 6:23)

Jesus, as God, took on human form (John 1:14) and substituted His life for our death, by dying on the cross for the sins of humanity.

He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 2:2

Jesus did not die for rejecting God – He IS God! He voluntarily gave His life as a substitute to reconcile us to Himself – taking our death into His own human body – and as Peter proclaimed,

God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

Acts 2:24

Jesus put an end to the agony of death, and separation from God is now an individual choice; we can choose to reject God or we can believe Him.

God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16
