My Job – Dec 2017

Grace, Hope & Peace, Friend;

As the number of followers grew, conflicts increased, so the twelve apostles called the congregation together and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.” And they instructed them to select godly men to deal with the issue. (Acts 6:1-3)

It wasn’t that serving tables was ‘beneath’ the apostles. They didn’t want to be distracted from the task Jesus had assigned them.

We will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.

Acts 6:4

The word ‘apostle’ means “one who is sent out.” After Jesus had risen from the dead, He told His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) Their assignment was to share the good news.

Our usefulness to God is not determined by WHAT we do but by HOW we do what we are assigned. Are we devoting ourselves to the duties God’s Spirit has assigned us? (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people

Colossians 3:23

Ruach Elohim – Spirit of God – Help me faithfully obey Your instructions.

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.

Psalm 125:1

Serve Him,
