God is an AMAZING Creator and He loves everything He has created. Jesus said, “God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son.” (John 3:16 (ICB)) Humanity disobeyed God, and our disobedience brought death and decay into creation. (Genesis 3) Instead of destroying humanity to save the rest of creation, God loved His creation enough to provide for reconciliation – For humanity and ALL creation.
It was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, (Jesus) and through Him to reconcile ALL things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Psalm 104 is about how God cares for all He has created. Verse 4 says,
He makes the winds His messengers, flaming fire His ministers.

At creation, humanity was tasked with taking care of the rest of creation; (Genesis 2:15) How are we doing?
At the end of the Gulf War, hundreds of Kuwaiti oil wells and pools of oil were ignited by retreating Iraqi troops. Doomsayers predicted the smoke would circle the earth causing wide-spread health hazards and dramatic changes in weather. Instead, the pollutants rose into the atmosphere by design – hot air rises – and were dissipated! God took care of His creation!
Here in the Northwestern US, we see a similar situation almost every year: We are supposed to ‘cultivate and tend’ to the forests. Instead poor forest management leaves dense undergrowth and weaker older trees – stifling new growth – and forest fires “burn out of control.“
Are they REALLY ‘out of control?’ Or is God doing our job?
I am not detracting anything from God’s love for US! Jesus said, “God’s love for creation is evidence of His love for YOU!“
Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!… If God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith!

Next time you see God ‘cultivating and tending to creation,’ be reminded of how much He loves YOU!
